I am definitely a believer of God. I believe in miracles and the awesome power of God. But I also believe in being realistic and not misleading people.
On 26th of July Trinity House Church which is headed by Pastor Ituah Ighodalo proclaimed on their official Facebook page that they have the solution to the deadly Ebola virus which has killed 672 people in West Africa since February. Their solution to Ebola is God’s anointing and the living words of Jesus.
The church cited the story of Canadian–American Pentecostal pastor, John Graham Lake, who along with his Holy Ghost filled team travelled to Africa during the deadly Bubonic Plague and cured infected Africans by simply laying his bare hands on them, cleaning and praying for them. When Lake was asked by scientists how he did it, he answered “I have the life of God in me, any virus that comes in contact with me dies” -
This right here is probably why this disease has taken so many lives. My people perish for lack of knowledge! Africans believe their men of God will cure them and pray the virus away! That “God forbid” they will not catch the virus!
Instead of shouting God Forbid everytime, wash your hands regularly, stay away from anyone you suspect has been infected. Don’t say God forbid and maintain physical contact with the infected person ooo!
What we need is education on how to prevent this disease not claims that laying of hands or simply sharing their Facebook message and saying Amen will stop the disease!
The church has since deleted the post following massive outrage from respondents on Facebook.
Educate yourselves, read up on Ebola!
