According to The Times reports, the Chairman of Microsoft Corp, Bill Gates, leads the latest edition of the most admired person in the world rating. U.S. President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin are numbers 2 and 3 in the poll.
Bill Gates, who last year regained his title as the world’s richest man, scored highly in each of the 12 countries where YouGov conducted polling.
The world’s billionaire #1 became the most popular among all the contenders in China.
According to the Times, President’s Putin’s popularity among Russians helped him secure third position on the list.
Pope Francis and Sachin Tendulkar, an Indian cricket player who retired in 2013, rounded out the top five.
The survey by YouGov made the rating after polling 14,000 people in the U.K., France, Germany, Russia, the U.S., Australia, Pakistan, Indonesia, India, China, Egypt, Nigeria and Brazil in the poll conducted for the Times newspaper.
